Delicious Oolong Tea Blends

If you’re ready for something a little different at tea time, try a flavored oolong tea. Many Westerners have not experienced the delicious flavor of oolong tea in any form. With a different flavor than black, green or white teas, oolongs are a rare treat. When paired with another flavor, oolong teas are quite exceptional.

Oolong tea is very popular in Asia. It was first created in China and is still considered China’s national tea. In the West, however, it is one of the least familiar tea varieties.

Cayenne Pepper And Its Many Benefits

Years ago, while living in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, a friend introduced my husband to cayenne. He was born and raised in the Caribbean; so you can imagine how he felt like living less than an hour from Lake Superior. Since hot peppers are not a part of his culture (that is Central America), he and cayenne did not have a history together; but, sure hit it off right away.

Manic Organic - With Big Brands Cashing In On The Organic Name, What Does Organic Really Mean?

I have written so many times about organic food, and am increasingly committed to living an ‘organic lifestyle’ where possible. But what exactly do I mean by that? To me it is about caring for my families’ health, and the families of the people who make the food, lessening my environmental impact, protecting my kids from chemical residues in food, and around the home and garden and taking responsibility for the lives of the animals which help produce our food. I also like to support the local economy, and am passionate about quality ingredients. I believe that big supermarket culture has altered our expectations about food; we want it cheap, fast, highly flavoured, squeaky clean, flawless, oh and even cheaper! The reality of good food and organic produce is that it isn’t always all of those things, but it can have so much more to offer. Some organic stuff to consider:

Over Emphasizing The Importance Of Age

“As more people take an interest in Puerh, more and more enthusiasts are seeking out old teas in the mistaken belief that the quality of a Puerh tea lies in its age.”

With new waves of tea enthusiasts entering into the Puerh market, the common request being made in many Puerh shops is “Show me your oldest Puerh tea”. This singular emphasis on a tea’s age have left many disappointed by their finds as the quality of Puerh tea does not lie solely on its age. A combination of factors beginning from its production and use of leaf material, processing method followed by storage conditions all play key roles on the quality of a Puerh tea. This is further tampered by time and the care given by the caretaker. It is through a positive culmination of all these factors that will eventually result in a well-aged Puerh tea that is prized amongst tea collectors and connoisseurs alike.

Do You Love Sushi? Try Orange County, California For Some Tasty Tidbits

Let’s face it-sushi or sashimi can be either the most delicious thing you have ever put in your mouth or horrible. People either love the idea of eating out of the sea raw fish or shutter and grimace at the thought.

As a fan of this cuisine, I have tried several places within Orange County, California. Let’s face it you stay where you are most comfortable and for me, the “OC” has been home for all but the first 5 years of my life. My entire family-even the newly teenaged niece and nephew have an affinity for the freshest and best of japanese “good eats”.

There Are Antibiotics In Your Vegetables

While the University of Minnesota researchers have already stated that livestock have a lot of harmful antibiotics in them, they are now saying that this is also true of vegetables as well. This study can be found in the Journal of Environmental Quality. It shows that food crops can readily accumulate antibiotics from the soil that has been spread with cattle manure.

Chinese Cooking Preparation

Sauces and spices are essential in any cooking. No dishes would taste good without them. These are some of the most popular ingredients, sauces and spices that we use in Chinese cooking.

Chinese egg noodles. They can be used in soups and stir-fry dishes as well as being boiled then fried until they’re crisp. This is the most popular type of noodle for Chinese cooking.

Shiitake mushrooms. They tough stalks which can be used for flavouring but should be thrown away before the dish is presented. They are often sold dried and should be reconstituted in hot water for 30 minutes. The soaking water can be added to soups for extra flavour.
