Who Should Pay For The First Date?
When you begin dating the first date is often hard to understand and there are many factors that people become confused about. When you go on a date typically the man would pay for the date, and the only reason it would be otherwise is if the woman asked the man specifically to go on a date and that she would cover expenses. This rarely happens though, which means men you’re stuck eating the bill.
Paying the bill on the first date shows that you have respect though and many women base a decision on a second date from the way a men acts and if you act like a gentlemen then you’ll usually have pretty good luck with getting second dates. If you don’t act like a gentlemen though then you won’t fair as well as other men who do, and yes paying for the activities and food is part of being a gentlemen.
The first date shouldn’t be a very expensive date anyways and often it’s just coffee and maybe some food. Ideally you should save your money to spend on second dates with people as then you at least know that the person has some interest in you. If you spend a lot of money on the first date then you won’t know if the reason for the second date is thanks to you or thanks to your money.
There is a thin line between spending enough on a date and too much, you should only begin to buy gifts and presents after you’ve had numerous dates and it’s becoming more serious. Then you’ll know that the woman is interested in you.
Make sure if you’re the man on the date that you take care of the bills but don’t overspend and if you’re a woman and you’re stuck paying the bill then I wouldn’t recommend a second date with the man as he isn’t your ideal gentleman.
