The Art Of Hanging In There
The art of hanging in there is so important for success in the internet marketing industry. The honest marketers will tell you that if six or seven people sign up with you, you can usually expect only one, maybe two, to stay.
The reasons for this are impatience, wanting something for nothing, frustration, and the list goes on. Most of us have an “employee mindset”, and we expect a paycheck at the end of the week for the work we have completed. You need to know that this business does not work that way.
In the beginning, you will put in a lot of hours for very little pay, or no pay at all. But, if you will stick it out, you will eventually work just a few hours for a lot of pay. That is why it is so important to know from the beginning that this will take time. Probably two to five years. All those promises that you hear about easy money and overnight riches are just not real.
Look at it this way. Think of any business at all; real estate, insurance sales, etc. Everyone in these businesses must work hard in the beginning to build their clientele. They just don’t go into business and have people knocking on their doors right away. The same is true with internet marketing. It takes time to build any business.
It is funny that everyone expects other businesses to take time, but they seem to believe that this business should be different. It may be because so many unscrupulous marketers have led them to believe it. In order to get ahead quickly, some of them promise fast money and a fancy lifestyle in no time at all. However, once people sign up and realize that they have been sold a bill of goods, they quit. They are frustrated and angry, and who could blame them?
Those who are successful today in this business did not fall for the hype. They knew that it would not be a cake-walk. They knew that it would take a lot of hard work, persistence, and determination. They did not stop when many in their downline quit. They did not become bitter when prospects decided not to join. They knew that all their efforts would pay off eventually.
You must have that same determination and belief. Belief in this business and in yourself. So many others are seeing success, and you can, too. Use the tools that those who have gone before you are using. Read as much material as you can find about the business and put the methods to use. Visit the home business forums and learn what the more experienced marketers are doing. Great information is out there for you to absorb.
Be sure to take your business online. There are some great offline methods, but they don’t reach the masses. Online is the only way to go if you want to build a big business. The internet is here to stay, and that is a great thing for our business. I cannot imagine trying to do this without it.
You must decide now that you will practice the art of hanging in there. If you want to change your future, you must know going in that there is no giving in. No quitting, no whining, no letting frustration set in. Just take one step after another, knowing that with each step you are getting closer to your goal. Within a few years, probably two or more, you should begin to see your efforts pay off. You will see the light at the end of the tunnel and know that the journey was worth it.
