So You Want To Be Happier?

Everyone wants to be happier. Then why are so few people really truly happy? Our thoughts trip us up. Our negative thoughts.

Yep, those pesky little negative thoughts we put so much store in. What is real? What isn’t real? Well, our thoughts are quick to tell us what’s real, whether it really is or not. And because we thought those thoughts, then they’re real, right?

Hmmmm. Let’s examine this a little further.

Better Health Leads To Greater Happiness

Just as setting small and attainable goals are the building blocks for achieving success; living a lifestyle of making good health choices leads to greater and more sustainable happiness.

The cliché “You are what you eat” does resonate with pieces of truth and common sense. There have been several health and fitness studies over the years that suggest people who are overweight, smoke and drink excessively have a predisposition to experience more bouts of depression than people who live a more moderate lifestyle in these areas.

Perfectionist - Be Perfect

Perfectionist
Nothing wrong with
Pursuing excellence
Perfectionism however
What an awful nuisance
To yourself and everybody else
Why can’t you just cheerfully be?
Open your eyes and truly see?
It’s more important to be
Possess life inwardly
Rather than control all
Compulsively outwardly
Such a life is not lived happily
It intimidates, alienates, and infuriates
Aggravates, degrades, and radiates
Pride, arrogance, and insensitivity
Why can’t you just live simply?
Let others dwell contently
Without criticisms rendered fatally
Flaws pointed out continually
Minuscule trivialities blown
Way out of proportion
The perfectionist is full
Of gross, futile distortion
As she lives in utter delusion
Pursuing an unattainable illusion
A fleeing fantasy, a nonexistent reality
By which you’re all worked up
Restless and rigid unnecessarily
As you endeavor to control
Narrating others lives is quite dull
Meanwhile your own is far
Beyond and out of control
Take peace and be made whole!
Regain what you’ve lost and stole
Don’t make a mountain out of a mole
Nor abuse others with commentary
Fixations out of touch and contrary
To what is truly most important
Arise, be real, and resilient
Regain your focus and inner life
Let go of all the incessant strife
Release the rage and inner turmoil
Before your blood does again boil
Explosive emotions waiting for release
Let it go and show some tenderness please
Enough of the drama and nagging trauma
Get back to the beautiful basics of life
Be thankful rather than badger and complain
Hold your tongue before you think to disdain
Renew your mind and examine your thoughts
Remove the blemishes of pain within
Develop an attitude of gratitude to win
Whereby your own greatness can emerge
Cultivate perfection within thine own heart
This my dear is the ideal place to start.

Rejoice…now!

We are all in search of doing things that would give us happiness, constantly. This is one thing everyone would accept. We run around, rack our brains, build principles and law, success formulae based on past experiences, some grapple with huge philosophies concerning right and wrong. We constantly compare ourselves with others trying to seek solace in the fact that we are ‘superior’ or more ‘talented’ or ‘well off’ than others are. And all of it ultimate boils down to seeking happiness in whatever we do or think. But an honest introspection would help us reveal that all these things would lead to but a fleeting sense of happiness. But then again we refrain from thinking too much along those lines or trying to realize that because that seems to take the whole sense and meaning out of running after most things we aspire for in our life. That is an illusion.

Make Sound Choices

10 years ago, I began to realize that it was time for me to use my gifts to help others. I didn’t want to do it…that wasn’t the life that I choose for me!

10 years ago, I was recovering from a serious car accident and living at home with my parents. I remember my frustrations, anger and fears and sharing these emotions with my MOM as I was looking for answers that were going to get me on the path that I wanted to take… to be on TV and in the Theater. I just knew that I had to Keep going…Keep going…Keep going.
